Here's how to get your hands on the Monte Carlo.
Our Destiny 2: How to get the Monte Carlo explains the best methods of obtaining this Exotic Auto Rifle.
Destiny 2 Shadowkeep is home to plenty of new and returning Exotic weapons, all of which spew out some extraordinarily powerful ammunition. One of these is the Monte Carlo Exotic Auto Rifle, an incredibly accurate damage dealer with a brilliant perk to boot. It reduces your melee cooldown each time a bullet hits its mark, and it also grants you a chance to fully recharge your melee ability with each kill.
Not only does this make the Monte Carlo a wonderful PVE weapon, it also makes it strong in PVP too. Below we’ll take you through how to get your hands on this elusive Auto Rifle.
Destiny 2: How to get the Monte Carlo
We hate to break it to you, but there’s no guaranteed way to get hold of the Monte Carlo in Destiny 2 right now. It’s a world drop, meaning there’s always a chance it’ll drop randomly from loot sources like the Raid, Strikes, Public Events and Crucible matches.
Here’s Blessious showing us what it’s capable of.
Of course, there are some ways you can maximise your loot haul and Exotic Engram drops. Your first option is to participate in high level activities like Raid, Raid Lairs and Nightfall Strikes. Ramping up difficulty numbers will make them more of a challenge, but they’ll increase the quality of your loot drops.
Otherwise, you may find success in activities like Gambit, Escalation Protocol, the Menagerie, the Blind Well and the Vex Offensive where wiping out waves of enemies will increase your likelihood of earning Prime Engrams.

What’s so special about the Monte Carlo?
The Monte Carlo’s Weapon Perk is the “Monte Carlo Method” and its description reads:
”Dealing damage with this weapon reduces your melee cooldown and grants a chance to fully charge your melee ability with each kill.”
Combine this with its trait “Markov Chain”:
”This weapon gains increased damage from melee kills and kills with this weapon. Melee kills grant ammo for this weapon.”
This means you’ll not only gain melee energy from using this weapon, it’ll also deal increased damage from kills and ammo for landing melee kills. Essentially, you want to combine its usage with your fist. Unleash a flurry of bullets, chase down your opponents, bash them to death, rinse and repeat.
Of course, if you’re a Titan, you can combine this weapon’s usage with the shoulder charge ability to deal increased melee damage.
