[UPDATED] Screenshots and details of all four Exotic items for sale this week beginning 22nd September
Where to find Xur in Destiny 2 this week (16th March 2018), with a list of the items currently being sold in exchange for Legendary Shards.
Players of the original Destiny will already be well acquainted with the shadowy figure Xur, vendor of some of the juiciest items you could lay your hands on last time around. He’s making a return in the sequel, and this page will represent our continuously updated guide to what he’s got for sale at any given time, and where you’ll need to go in order to track him down.
Don’t forget that we have a huge amount of Destiny 2 guide content located elsewhere on geeksplatform. If you head over to our core Destiny 2 guide page, you’ll be able to get in-depth guides for completing every mission, Strike and world activity in the game, not to mention insight for dominating on every PVP map that the sequel has to offer.
Where is Xur this week?
Xur is currently located on Io near the Giant’s Scar landing zone.
Xur’s in the little cave just north of the Giant’s Scar landing zone, past the Warmind Vault map marker.
What is Xur selling this week?
Xur is currently selling the following items:
- Skyburner’s Oath (Auto Rifle)
- Doom Fang Pauldrons (Titan Gauntlets)
- Wings of Sacred Dawn (Warlock Chest)
- Celestial Nighthawk (Hunter Helmet)
- Fated Engram (97 Legendary Shards)
- Three of Coins (31 Legendary Shards)
The Fated Engram is a brand new Engram that was introduced all the way back in the December 12th Update. It’s pricey, but cracking one open will guarantee you an Exotic that you currently don’t own.
The Three of Coins was originally part of Destiny 1 as was introduced into Destiny 2 alongside the Fated Engram on December 12th. Using it will give you a four-hour buff that increases the odds of Exotic Engrams dropping organically when you’re out and about.
What currency does Xur use in Destiny 2?
In the original Destiny you were required to source a whole heap of Strange Coins, which could then be exchanged with Xur for his collection of Exotic Weapons and Armour. Not a lot is changing in the sequel, although you should be aware that the new currency is called Legendary Shards.
Whereas you previously earned Strange Coins from completing special events, ticking off Raids, beating the tougher Nightfall Strikes and dismantling high-end gear you didn’t need any more, these activities will now reward you with Legendary Shards.
How many Legendary Shards will you actually need to be able to purchase items from Xur though? Exact item costs have yet to be confirmed by Bungie, so make sure you check back when the first inventory drop goes live a little later on this week.
