Fallout 76: Adhesive guide – How to get and farm Adhesive
All the ways to get Adhesive in Fallout 76.
Our Fallout 76 Adhesive guide contains a list of all the places you can find Adhesive, all the junk items which grant Adhesive and a great Adhesive farm method.
Fashioned from glue and Vegetable Starch, Adhesive is a crafting staple which is used in all sorts of mods, explosives and gear upgrades. This doesn’t mean that it’s in abundance though, as it can be surprisingly difficult to find if you’re not actively seeking it out.
There’s actually a way to farm Adhesive and seek it out in junk items too, but this isn’t explained in-game. To help you out we’ve put together a list of all the items that can be scrapped for Adhesive as well as a simple farming method which involves genuinely involves a bit of farming.

Junk items which contain Adhesive
Here’s a list of all the junk items in Fallout 76 which reward adhesive when scrapped at a crafting station:
- Duct Tape – 1 Adhesive, 1 Cloth
- Economy Wonderglue – 5 Adhesive
- Excess Adhesive – 1 Adhesive
- Handmade Glue – 1 Glass, 1 Adhesive
- Military Grade Duct Tape – 2 Antiballistic Fiber, 4 Adhesive
- Pack of Duct Tape – 4 Adhesive, 2 Cloth
- Sealed Wonderglue – 4 Adhesive
- Vegetable Starch – 4 Adhesive
- Wonderglue – 4 Adhesive
There’s nothing for it but to go on the hunt for these items when you’re out exploring Appalachia. Many of them are pretty small in size as well, so try and be thorough when clearing out rooms as the likes of Duct Tape and Wonderglue are easy to miss.
Do make sure you use the “Tag for Search” feature when seeking out crafting materials like Adhesive, as it’ll help out a great deal. Tag them, and it’ll place a magnifying glass icon next to the items you’re after, so any time you encounter them in the world you’ll be alerted to them.
How to make Adhesive
With the CAMP feature, you can actually craft your own Adhesive too. Below we’ll break down the whole process for you.
You’ll need to find the following:
- Corn – 2
- Fertiliser – This can be found in farms and barns in the game world.
- Mutfruit – 2
- Purified Water – 1
- Tato – 2
Now you’ll need to return to camp and find some surrounding soil to plant these in. This should give you a permanent source of vegetables, which you’ll want to pick as often as possible.
Once you’ve got a nice stack of these vegetables in your inventory, you will then need to head to your Cooking Station. Scroll to the Utilities tab, select Vegetable Starch and craft as many as you can.
Finally, you need to find a workbench. Once there, you can break down the Vegetable Starch you’ve crafted into Adhesive.
Make sure you watch this video by Channel5 Gaming as it shows you this Adhesive farming method in-game, which is really useful!
