Hearthstone deck guide: Chaoss Shaman – Hearthstone
Getting the most from the latest GvG Shaman deck.
Shamans were the first out of the gate with a dominant deck at the release of Goblins vs Gnomes, and it’s fair to say it took a little while for the rest of the game to catch up. Even though things have evened out a little since then, a player by the name of CameronChaoss has created this extremely popular deck for the Hero – and it’s one that can be taken all the way to Legend rank.
Chaoss Shaman deck strategy guide

There are quite a few of the new Goblins vs Gnomes cards in this particular Shaman deck – and they’re not all cheap to craft – but one of the most interesting of all is Powermace. You’re going to use this weapon to bop enemy minions on the head in the early game, while hoping to get a Mech minion of your own in play before the Deathrattle kicks in. That way you continue to clear his board while empowering your own minions.
Control the board during the early stages, build up a formidable fighting force of your own by doing so, and make very judicious use of your Flametongue Totems. These, in conjunction with spells like Rockbiter are essential for ensuring you maintain a dominant position in the latter half of the game when your bigger guys come out to play.
Chaoss Shaman Mulligan guide
The main bit of good news with this deck is that it’s pretty well stuffed with those all-essential two drops, so barring terrible misfortune you should be able to craft yourself a pretty decent opening hand. Cards like Whirling Zap-o-matic, Annoy-o-Tron and Harvest Golem are all great options to have in hand. If you’ve got the capacity to fill turns two and three nicely, go rummaging around in your deck for Piloted Shredder or Arcane Nullifier X-21
Chaoss Shaman combos
Azure Drake can be used to add just a little more juice to Lightning Storm if you can play them at the same time – or keep the Azure Drake alive long enough for two separate plays.
Powermace is the big synergy card in this deck, however, and you should always have a mech on the table to take advantage of this weapon’s Deathrattle effect.
Flametongue Totem can be used to empower anything else you have on the board, but always position it so that you get maximum usage from it if you need to trade off minions one by one.
The importance of Rockbiter Weapon cannot be overstated, and combining it with Al’Akir the Windlord can often win you the match. Always think twice before playing your turn, and check you don’t have lethal before making trades.
