Destiny 2: Faction Rally bug gives Future War Cult members the advantage

Pledged allegiance to Future War Cult? You're in luck.

Those who’ve pledged allegiance to Future War Cult in Destiny 2’s first Faction Rally event aren’t subject to the 30 Engram reward cap that affects the other two factions. The bug enables members to earn unlimited gear rewards until the event comes to a close.

The news comes our way thanks to members of the community, and was brought to our attention by YouTuber Unknown Player who highlights the issue.

Bungie put measures in place during Destiny 2’s Faction Rally event so as to restrict the number of rewards players would earn after opening 30 Engrams in total. Past this point players will only receive Shaders, and not sought-after gear like armour and weapons. At the moment, this applies to factions Dead Orbit and New Monarchy, with Future War Cult seemingly left untouched by the restriction.

This means that those who’ve pledged their allegiance to Future War Cult can earn gear rewards from their Engrams even if they’ve passed the 30 Engram cap. Considering the winning faction is decided by the number of Engrams awarded to its players, we’re curious as to how this bug will affect Future War Cult’s standings.

Although players can still technically earn Engrams for their faction past the cap, we can’t help but feel that Future War Cult will have a distinct advantage when it comes crossing the finishing line first.

With this said, Bungie are aware of the issue and are no doubt cooking up a fix as we type. If you’re a member of Dead Orbit and New Monarchy, we’re sure you’ll be repaid somehow. Those in Future War Cult should probably just make the best of things while they can!
