Destiny 2: Here’s everything that’s in the PC beta
PC Guardians will be able to duke it out on a brand new map.
Bungie has just revealed all the details about what exactly will be coming to Destiny 2’s PC beta when it kicks off on 28th August 2017.
The news was confirmed in an official blog post by Bungie, and we’ve summarised all of this information for you below.
PC Beta Content
Here’s everything that you’ll be able to get stuck into.
- Homecoming Story Mission
- Inverted Spire Strike
- Countdown on Midtown
- Control on Javelin-4 (New!)
- New tuning changes
The PC beta will also include some additional balance changes to Destiny 2, such as Guardians having more access to power ammo and more frequent use of their Super abilities.
Recently, Bungie issued a statement in response to the negative player feedback they’d received during the Destiny 2 console beta. The developers clarified that the console beta was actually based on an earlier build of the game, and that changes had already been applied in their internal tests.
It’s certainly exciting that PC players will get to play a version of Destiny 2 that’s closer to the final version of the game, and we’ll soon get to see whether these balance tweaks make it a more enjoyable and rewarding experience overall.
Let’s not forget that new map either! There’s currently no further information on Javelin-4, but we’ll be sure to cover it in as much detail as possible when we can.

- 2. Crucible PVP – Crucible PVP guide
- 3. Exotic Weapons – Exotic Weapons guide
- 4. Campaign guide – Campaign guide

Anti-cheat mechanisms
Bungie also announced that there will be extensive anti-cheat tools in measure for the PC game, but details are understandably thin on the ground – the developers won’t want to give their tricks of the trade away to the enemy, after all.
Below you’ll find a breakdown of applications that may be affected by these mechanisms.
- Communications applications
- Capture/Streaming applications
Server Maintenance
Here’s when the Destiny 2 servers will be taken offline for maintenance.
- Date: Tuesday, 8th August 2017
- Start: 8am PST, 3pm BST.
- Expected Completion: 12pm PST, 7pm BST
Clan migration
Finally, Bungie announced the deadline for transferring your Clan from the original Destiny over to the sequel.
- Group Founders have until 23rd August 2017 to prepare their Clan or Group for the transition.
Destiny 2’s PC beta begins on 28th August for those who pre-ordered the game and the 29th of August for everyone else. It ends in all cases on the 31st of August 2017, which is around a couple of months before the PC launch on 24th October.
