Easter Eggs discovered in Hearthstone’s Halloween trailer
Tombstones reference the overpowered cards of years gone by.
An eagle-eyed Redditor has spotted what appear to be a handful of tongue-in-cheek references to certain previously overpowered cards in a video promoting Hearthstone’s Halloween event.
Look closely at the video embedded below at around the 10 second mark, and you’ll notice a handful of tombstones bearing the names of famously impactful cards from years gone by.
Each one of these cards became so powerful at one time or another in Hearthstone’s history that Blizzard felt compelled to radically alter them in order to reduce their potency.
In the image below you can see tombstone references to Starving Buzzard, Force of Nature and Warsong Commander. Look a little closer and you can read the word Murloc on the right-hand tombstone, which presumably references the recent re-balancing of Murloc Warleader.

Hearthstone’s Hallow’s End event runs until the 6th November, and introduces a temporary dual-class arena mode for the game, along with a special Headless Horseman Tavern Brawl which is due to be deployed around 1pm PDT today. That’s 9pm for those of you in the UK, and 10pm for Europeans.
