The long-running Brawl returns to Hearthstone yet again!
This week’s Hearthstone Tavern Brawl is now live on all game servers around the world, and it’s the return of Encounter at the Crossroads.
If this one strikes as you as particularly familiar, that’ll be because this is in fact the sixth time the Brawl has featured on the rotation since July 2015.
Encounter at the Crossroads has you picking a class, after which you’ll be assigned a completely random pack of cards to do battle with. To make sure there’s at least some semblance of balance for each deck, there are 15 class cards and 15 neutral cards in total.
Additionally – and although the odds are against this happening – it it technically possible to have more than two cards of the same type appear in your randomised deck, and more than one of the same Legendary card as well.

Given the very random nature of this week’s challenge, it’s tricky to give tips. Suffice to say that there’s a huge amount of uncertainty involved in the whole thing, and it’s probably wise to play a cautious, value-orientated game taking good trades wherever possible. Imagine you’re playing Arena, in other words!
Tavern Brawls go live on Thursday over here in the UK, and wrap up late on Sunday evening. Once you’ve bagged your first win each week, you’ll receive a free Classic card pack to help you bulk out your collection. Subsequent wins are strictly for fun though, with a running tally of your victories recorded.
