Fortnite: Battle Royale – Chest Map / Loot Map (PC, PS4, Xbox One)
How to find every chest on the map in Fortnite: Battle Royale.
Our Fortnite: Battle Royale Chest Map page contains a loot map for the entire playable area of the game.
Starting off your match the right way means gearing up and getting ready for battle as quicky as possible. You can nab weapons, ammo and meds from the ground of course, but the best loot is locked away in golden chests that are scattered across the map. They’re a bit harder to locate though, and you’ll usually find them tucked away behind walls, unsuspecting trucks or dingy basements.
These chests aren’t randomised either, which means that the very best players have learned to memorise their locations so they can snatch away the powerful loot time and time again. You can do the same, of course, although you better be ready for a tough fight if you intend to go toe to toe with the rest of the pack. Seasoned players will find the risk more than compensated for, however.
To help players of all levels get up to speed, we’ve put together a guide based around fortnitechests.info, a site that shows you exactly where all the chests are located on Fortnite: BR’s latest map. It’s also continuously updated, so there’s no need to worry about it ever being out of date.
Editor’s UPDATE #2: We’ve updated the map in this guide with the latest version which includes the brand new Dusty Divot and Risky Reels locations. It also takes into account other reworks including Moisty Mire and Prison too.
Below we’ve linked an image of the map showing the locations of all the golden chests. All credit for this goes to fortnitechests.info
We highly recommend heading over to site for greater detail, as you’ll be able to click on individual chests to bring up a screenshot of their exact location on the map itself. This is especially important when it comes to finding chests in some particularly dense areas such as Tilted Towers and Pleasant Park – it can be pretty tricky to get your bearings for the chests here.
Best places to land
If we’re talking about the most chests, landing in Tilted Towers is almost certainly your best chance of bagging the best loot. Unfortunately you’ll have to contend with many other players – not just a few, expect an army!
We reckon Snobby Shores is fairly underrated as there are a tonne of chests and the likelihood is that you won’t really encounter that many players fighting over them. Fatal Fields is a little more popular, but it’s got one of the best locations for grabbing chests along the outskirts before legging it over to Salty Springs.
We’ve found the latest additions, Dusty Divot and Risky Reels aren’t actually that great for finding decent loot. They aren’t exactly generous with golden chests, and even grabbing a weapon off the floor can be tricky if you’re not the first to land in both of these locations. If anything, we’d recommend avoiding these areas if you’re aiming to get a good start and ultimately win the game.
We’ve covered some of the best chest locations and starting spots in our best places to land guide, so check it out for a more in-depth look at getting the best possible start in-game. We’ve also got a map locations guide if you want to brush up on the different zones in the game.
Otherwise, our guides to getting geared up quickly and how to land faster are excellent complimentary reading materials. Once you’ve swatted up on these, we guarantee you’ll be looting among the very best of them.
