UPDATE: 5TH APRIL 2018

It looks as though there may be a number of static location Hidden Gnomes for you to track down, rather than you having to furiously build Brick walls in order to hope for one to spawn.

We’ve provided the locations of all currently known Hidden Gnomes so that you can get this one done a little quicker. Expect more updates on this front in the coming hours.

Here’s a map that was produced by Reddit user thesquatingdog which shows the location of all Week 7 Challenges, including the known locations of those Hidden Gnomes:

All Hidden Gnome locations:

We’ve expanded a little on the Hidden Gnome locations we’ve seen so far. We’ll look to update this further as we find more – stay tuned.

  • Junk Junction – In the centre of this location, inside one of the largest buildings next to the living room.
  • Haunted Hills – Inside the bottom of the main church that’s located towards the South East.
  • Pleasant Park – North Western area, in the right hand entrance of the largest house.
  • Snobby Shores
  • Greasy Grove
  • Tilted Towers
  • Shifty Shafts – Inside a Northern section of the mine, tucked behind wooden boards near the cart track.
  • Loot Lake
  • Anarchy Acres
  • Tomato Town – Pizza diner, in the study room.
  • Wailing Woods – North Eastern side, in one of the lodges.
  • Retail Row – East side, in the hut next to Joel’s diner.
  • Dusty Depot – Southernmost warehouse, destroy a long wooden crate and the Gnome’s hidden inside.
  • Salty Springs – Southern central building, tucked under the stairs on the bottom floor.
  • Fatal Fields – Inside the rounded bale of hay near the delapidated shed towards the South.
  • Moisty Mire
  • Lucky Landing – North Eastern building, inside on the ground floor behind the bath tub.
  • Flush Factory – South side, inside the paint splattered toilet cubicle.

We’ve linked a video by Youtuber DPJ below which shows you how to find and collect 10 of these hidden gnomes across the map. While it’s not all of them, it’s more than enough to safely complete the challenge. If you found it helpful, do make sure to give it a thumbs up and support the creator!

ORIGINAL STORY

One of the more mysterious Week 7 Challenges that are about to go live in Fortnite goes by the name of “Search the Hidden Gnome in different Named Locations”. It’s a rather mysteriously-named challenge as there’s every chance you haven’t spotted one of these characters in the game before.

You’ll have to search Hidden Gnomes a total of seven times in different locations if you want to complete the challenge, but what exactly does it involve? In our complete guide to finishing this task, we explain how to spawn the gnomes, search them and get this one off the list nice and quickly!

Fortnite Hidden Gnomes: How to locate them

If you’ve been playing the game for a while now – and have done an awful lot of building along the way – you might have noticed these gnomes pop up occasionally whenever you use the Brick material. They don’t show up very often, but they’re definitely there.

Fatal Farms has a decent amount of the Brick material that you need to harvest to construct these walls, and it’s also a very flat space. That makes it easy to quickly construct big old lines of Brick walls and quickly track down any Hidden Gnomes inside it. Salty Springs is reportedly another good location.

You need to complete this task in seven different locations, but you can work towards the progress over many matches – just try to keep in mind where you’ve been before, and head somewhere new to make further progress.

Fortnite Hidden Gnomes: What are Named Locations?

Put very simply, Named Locations are those areas of the Fortnite Map that have a specific title: Retail Row, Tilted Towers, Shifty Shafts and so on. In other words, if you want to make progress on the Hidden Gnomes challenge then you’re going to need to be in one of those areas when you start your Brick construction efforts.

Just keep in mind that some of these Named Locations can be much busier than others (the ones listed above are notoriously feisty), which means that it can be tricky to work on this one without getting blown up to smithereens. If you want to focus purely on finishing this task quickly, our advice is to go off the beaten track a little bit.

Fortnite Hidden Gnomes: How to farm a lot of brick

You may have to build quick a lot of walls to uncover the gnomes within them, and that means you’re going to need to unearth a lot of brick materials.

Look in particular for the big old piles of grey rock that are littered all over the map. Whacking these gives you heaps of the material, and you shouldn’t have too much trouble building up a big stash quickly.

We understand that building walls from a maxed out Brick stash should help you uncover around a dozen gnomes, which sounds pretty achievable to us. Just remember to move on to a different Named Location when you’ve found a Hidden Gnome in each spot!

That’s the end of the first edition of our guide to completing the “Search the Hidden Gnome in different Named Locations” Week 7 Challenge. We’ll have another update for you later on today, once the new content has actually gone live in Fortnite.
