Fortnite Patch v8.20 adds a new game mode and healing items
All the changes coming with Fortnite's next client update.
Epic has just revealed the patch notes for v8.20 of Fortnite. Once live, the updated will introduce a brand new Floor is Lava Limited Time Mode, a new Poison Dart Trap, and some new Foraged items as well.
As the name suggests, the Floor is Lava LTM tasks players with reaching the high ground before anyone else. At the start of each match Lava will gradually rise from the lowest parts of the map and will eventually engulf it in flames.
Players will be able to build on the lava, however, and you’ll be given a small number of materials each second to help you avoid a roasting too.

Next up, there’s a brand new Poison Dart Trap on its way. Once placed it will fire poison darts from a distance, and any enemies struck by them will receive a damage-over-time effect which bypasses shields.
Scattered across the map, you’ll also be able to find Foraged Items: Bananas, Coconuts and Peppers to be precise.
Bananas restore a small amount of health and can be found in the tropical biome. Coconuts can be foraged by damaging palm trees, and when consumed they’ll gradually restore health over time. Finally, Peppers grant a small amount of health and also grant a movement speed buff for ten seconds.
There are many other tweaks and bug fixes with the launch of v8.20 as well. Make sure you head on over to the official Fortnite patch notes page for a complete overview of what’s new.
