New card pack bundles, Arena changes and bug fixed also outlined in the latest blog post.
A new event will be added to Hearthstone a little later on this month, according to a post made on the game’s official site yesterday evening. Called Taverns of Time, it appears to be a twist on the Arena format where “alternative realities collide in the Tavern.”
According to the announcement there will be 28 special cards that are unique to the Arena while this event is active, and associated Daily Quests will reward gold as well as dust. The event kicks off on Monday 11th June and runs until Monday 2nd July.
A new “Get in Here” card pack bundle has also just been added to the game. It consists of two packs each from the Classic, Witchwood, Kobolds and Catacombs, Frozen Throne and Un’Goro expansions. It costs £6.99 (around a 40% discount from the usual price) and can be purchased as many times as you wish. Note that the pack will disappear from the store on Tuesday 19th June at 10:00am PDT.
Want a free Classic card pack? Log in on Wednesday 13th June to receive a pack that contains nothing but Golden cards! This marks the celebration of what Blizzard is terming ‘Free Pack Day’.
Finally there are lots of behind the scenes tweaks for the client. The most notable of these affect the “bucket” system of Arena’s new drafting system, and a change to Tess Greymane which limits her Battlecry to 30 cards and will stop if she’s removed from play or silenced, for example. It’s a bit like the change to Yogg-Saron, Hope’s End and has caused a bit of a stink in the community. We’ll see if Blizzard decides to offer the usual crafting dust compensation in this case.
For the full lowdown on all of these changes, head over to the post on the official Hearthstone site. We’ll be bringing you more detail on Taverns of Time as soon as it becomes available, so keep an eye on the homepage.
