Hearthstone’s next expansion will be revealed this month
Dave Kosak's going on a card hunt.
We can expect to hear the first details of the next Hearthstone expansion before the end of March.
The news was confirmed by game director Ben Brode on Twitter late last night:
Have fun! Bring the expansion back soon! We’re supposed to announce it this month! https://t.co/e3NdJL4Cx9

Brode’s confirmation came in response to a tweet made by colleague Dave Kosak, which suggests that filming is under way for the big reveal.
Nothing gets the @playhearthstone creative juices flowing like some time outdoors. I’m goin’ camping and looking for the next expansion! pic.twitter.com/BMRv1RefNj

Hearthstone’s developers have a track record of producing colourful reveal material for each expansion, often appearing in thematically appropriate costume to provide the first details.
Last year’s cluster of connected expansions began with the release of Journey to Un’Goro at the end of April, with Knights of the Frozen Throne and Kobolds and Catacombs arriving at the start of August and December respectively.
It typically takes a month or so for every card in an upcoming set to be revealed, so it seems likely to us that we’ll see the release of 2018’s first expansion towards the end of next month.
We’ll update the site as soon as we have more information on the next stage in Hearthstone’s journey.
