Hearthstone’s second 2018 expansion teased
Announcement date set for Thursday 12th July.
Blizzard has issued its traditional announcement of an announcement for the next Hearthstone expansion, which is expected to launch at some point in August.
The news came in the form of an image circulated to the games media yesterday evening. As you can see below, it features a hand clutching a bitten apple which appears to contain a worm in the shape of the familiar Hearthstone swirl.
Who knows what any of that means, but what we can be pretty sure of is that the date provided – Thursday 12th July 2018 – marks the moment we’ll receive the first details of 2018’s second expansion.
The jury’s out on whether we’ll see an early or a late August release for the as-yet-unnamed card set.
With World of Warcraft’s Battle for Azeroth expansion launching on August 14th, it seems likely we’ll see Hearthstone’s new content arrive either early on that month – in line with previous release cycles – or towards the end of the month instead.
Regardless of what’s coming to the game and when, we’ll be covering all of the announcements on the homepage. Keep an eye on the site for more detail soon.
