Get access to the newest Battle Royale with Twitch.
Hyper Scape, the new Battle Royale from Ubisoft, is in closed beta and being streamed by a number of prominent content creators. Here’s how to get a key and access the game.
Hyper Scape is Ubisoft’s foray into the Battle Royale genre, bringing with it a great deal of Twitch integration and dynamic movement mechanics. Many are excited to get their hands on it, and the game uses the same Twitch drops system as Valorant did a couple months ago.
Twitch viewers can vote on in-game events, giving players infinite ammo, low-gravity, or all kinds of other treats. Dead players will also be able to come back as ghosts and help their team mates.
It’s also free-to-play, so anyone can get in on the action with this latest Battle Royale.
You may want to give it a go though, so here’s how to access the Hyper Scape closed beta.
Hyper Scape Closed Beta: How to get a key
Right, let’s break down everything you need to know about the closed beta.
Hyper Scape Closed Beta Release Date
Hyper Scape’s Closed Beta started on July 2nd, 2020.
How do I get a key?
Ubisoft and Twitch have linked up in a similar way that Valorant did, so you’ll need to start watching some streams for a chance to get access. First, you have to link your accounts though – here’s how to do that:
- 1. Register for a Ubisoft account if you don’t have one already.
- 2. Link your Ubisoft account to your Twitch account. To do this, just follow the link here and click ‘login with Twitch’.
- 3. Now, you’ll just have to accept a few permissions and your Twitch account will be linked up. You should find yourself in your Twitch Drops Inventory.
How do I know which streamers to watch for key drops?
Now, it’s just a case of watching some Hyper Scape streams. Make sure the streams you watch have the ‘Drops Enabled’ tag, otherwise you might be wasting your time.
Unless a stream has this tag, it won’t offer the chance for drops. Some streamers put ‘Drops Enabled’ in the title of the stream, but without the tag it’s probably not true. You can actually search specifically for streams with the ‘Drops Enabled’ tag using the search bar pictured below. The full list of partnered streamers for Hyper Scape is available here.
The following regions are the only ones able to access the Hyper Scape closed beta:
- United Kingdom
How do I know if I get a beta key?
At the top right of your Twitch home screen, you’ll find a red marker in the notification panel which is sat between your Prime Loot and Whispers. Click on it, and it’ll say that you’ve got a Hyper Scape Key!
This is what the notification icon looks like:
You can get a beta key if you leave a stream on overnight, so if you have the means this is a valid method. It’s worth giving the streams an actual watch though – you might work out some strategies that’ll help you big time with getting to grips with the game.
When is my last chance to get a beta key?
The Hyper Scape Technical Test period lasts from Thursday June 2nd until July 7th 11:59pm (PST), or July 8th 1:59am (ET), July 8th 7:59am (BST).
Access is still being given as we speak, and you don’t need to watch drop enabled streams 24/7. After watching for 20 minutes you’ll be eligable, so give it a watch for a little bit and have a break – you’ll still get an alert via email or on Twitch if you get access.
Will my Beta progress carry over to the final game?
Yes. According to Ubisoft, ‘Participants to the Technical Test and other test phases will keep their progression and everything they’ve unlocked. This test includes a 10 tiers free Battle Pass – everything players unlock in this Battle Pass will be for them to keep’.
Get grinding then! There’l be more Technical Test and beta periods, so when you get access you’ll be able to keep hold of all your stuff.
When will the full game launch?
At the moment, all we know is that Hyper Scape plans on fully launching at some point in 2020. The exact date depends on the game’s reception from players, as well as what issues arise during the Technical Testing periods. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we know more though.
Expect plenty more Hyper Scape guides from geeksplatform once we’ve had some time to get to grips with the game, so stay tuned for more.
