Naxxramas design document hints at a very different Adventure – Hearthstone
See what might have been.
The Curse of Naxxramas meta could have turned out very differently indeed, if the draft design document shared by Hearthstone game director Ben Brode on Twitter yesterday evening is anything to go by.
Here’s the standout stuff, which contains all sorts of fascinating tweaks to the cards we came to know and love. You can see the full document outlining every draft card just below this round-up.
- Only 25 cards feature in the list. This is because the single-player structure had yet to be finalised at the time.
- Haunted Creeper was originally known as Dread Creeper, costing one Mana more and having three points of Attack instead of one.
- Stoneskin Gargoyle was originally a Beast costing two Mana less, but having two less Health.
- Shade of Naxxramas cost four Mana instead of three, and started off at just 1/1 stats.
- The card Necro Knight ended up as a boss mechanic for the Adventure.
- Shatter might have come to the game earlier, as a four Mana spell that destroys every Frozen minion!
- The original Loatheb design prevented all healing from occurring.
