An in-game tournament is also on its way to Fortnite.
Epic Games has just confirmed a few more details about Fortnite’s Fall Skirmish series, the follow-up tournament to the Summer Skirmish that was announced recently.
While re-iterating all of the details we already knew about the upcoming tournament – a $10,000,000 prize pot split across six weeks of play – the latest blog post also confirms that the event will conclude at Twitchcon between October 26th and 28th.
Additionally, we now also know that the Fall Skirmish will feature both Competitive and Entertainment formats as the tournament plays out. As they participate in the event, players will represent teams and earn points for their teams based on their performances in both modes of play.

The exact make-up of those modes has yet to be confirmed, but you can expect a mixture of classic Fortnite last-man-standing play, along with some more unusual challenges built around ATK races and other assorted mini-games cooked up by the developers.
Epic expects a higher participant count this time around too. Although around 500 Fortnite players took a share of the spoils from the Summer Skirmish, a higher number of entrants is expected for the Fall Skirmish.
A blog post planned for next week will outline further details of the tournament format, and also include details of team compositions as well.
Finally, it looks as though an in-game tournament system is coming to Fortnite! Showdown Royale will provide the entire community with an opportunity to compete and earn prizes. We’ll have more detail for you on that front, and just as soon as it becomes available.
