League of Legends’ Devin Younge announces departure from EULCS Broadcast Team
Broadcaster pays tribute to colleagues but is seeking new challenges.
Devin “PiraTechnics” Younge has left his position as a member of the EULCS broadcasting team after four years at Riot.
In a post on Medium, Younge outlined the reasons for his departure, while paying tribute to the broadcasting team as a whole and its achievements.
“I’ve been incredibly lucky to have shared the caster desk with some of the most brilliant, hard-working, and dedicated personalities in the industry”, he wrote.
“But over time, I’ve realized that I need to branch out in order to keep growing. Working on the same title (however awesome) and the same broadcast for four seasons has been somewhat limiting to my growth.

“I want to move in new directions, work in different broadcast environments, and try my voice in new and exciting titles.”
As for those future plans, Younge’s keeping tight-lipped for now but cites “exciting work lined up in the near future, and [that he’s] buzzing with excitement to share it with you all!”.
Younge has also confirmed that he intends to continue to work on League of Legends in a freelance capacity, along with contributions for other gaming titles. A guest return to the LoL broadcasting desk hasn’t been ruled out either.
