League of Legends’ first LEC matches kick off later today
Find out who's playing and when in this weekend's opening matches
The first matches of the inaugural League of Legends European Championship (LEC) begin a little later on today, with Fnatic and SK Gaming squaring up against each other at 5:00pm GMT.
That will be followed up throughout the evening with a number of tantalising encounters, as premier teams Vitality, G2 and Misfits also get their first taste of the rebranded tournament.
Here’s a complete breakdown of all the matches in the schedule for today. Subtract eight hours for PT, five for ET, and add an hour onto each time if you’re watching from mainland Europe.
- 5:00pm – Fnatic v SK Gaming
- 6:00pm – exceL Esports v Splyce
- 7:00pm – Team Vitality v Schalke 04
- 8:00pm – Rogue v Misfits Gaming
- 9:00pm – Origen v G2 Esports

The second round of play – scheduled for tomorrow, 19th January – will see the same teams competing once more, this time against their second opponents in the roster.

The league then takes a break until Friday 25th January, where the next round of competitive play will begin with a showdown between Fnatic and Team Vitality.
