The biggest plays from the game's best players in Week 4.
The official Overwatch YouTube channel has posted a new video which highlights their pick of the best plays from Week 4 of Stage 1 of Overwatch League 2019.
Although this week’s round-up has a large focus on solo DPS finesse, it’s nevertheless a great look at how some of the best in the business get stuff done. There’s plenty for us mortals to learn from, in other words.
Here’s the video that was posted last night, with a closer look at each highlight just below it:
#5 – Always kill the healers
Although this is a rather brief highlight, note how cleanly the Hunters’ Baconjack picks off the Titans’ support with ruthless precision.
#4 – The best defense…
Reinhardt v Reinhardt is often a game of who blinks first, but Toronto Defiant’s Yakpung did an incredible job of timing his charge to perfection.
With the Spark’s Guxue taken out of play, his team are entirely exposed to Envy’s devastating D.Va bomb which clears out the point in spectacular style.
If you’re on the receiving end of this kind of ult combo, be extremely wary of swinging for even a second while your team is so vulnerable!
#3 – Justice is most definitely served
A Nano Boosted Pharah may not exactly be the most imaginative strategic play, but the Charge’s Hotba makes use of every millisecond of it to exceptional effect.
Note also the precision Conscussion Blast though that helps him zip around the map to pick off the stragglers.
#2 Guys, the payload?
Sometimes it’s the simple tactics that count more than anything else.
Although the Dragons’ Dding isn’t the first person to make canny use of Sombra to squeak the payload over the checkpoint, this is a very good reminder to never take your eye off the bigger picture.
#1 Jinmu provides a masterclass in Hanzo sniping
Again, this is another example of solo finesse rather than team strategy you can learn something from, but Jinmu’s Hanzo play is about as good as it gets in the #1 slot. Just get a look at that pick on Envy’s Tracer…
